The Institue for Instructional Excellence and its Centers were founded by Janie Sullivan and Sheri Schmeckpeper. Prior to developing the Institute, Janie and Sheri worked together for nearly a decade at different educational institutions, both private and public. Throughout that time they continually discussed ways to improve the quality of teaching and learning, to fulfill learner and facilitator needs efficiently and effectively, and to bring excellence to virtual communication.

Combining their expertise in communications, technology, instruction and virtual presence, they are now providing opportunities for learners, teachers, and institutions to excel in the traditional classroom, in the unconstrained world of distance learning, in self expression and in self improvement.
